    May 29 - June 19 2010

We decided to go to China, Beijing followed by South Korea, Seoul for our grad trip.

CHINA, BEIJING - ALEX, EILEEN, JUN WEI, WEN QI

Arrived on 29 May 2010 via Air China. Our flight got delayed at Changi Airport for about 2-3 hours. It was not as bad as it seems actually. Alex brought me around the airport and for the first time I actually enjoyed the fact that my flight is being delayed. Changi Airport was amazing cool with all the well hidden Movie halls and Gaming rooms. In addition, the Sunflower Roof Garden was super pretty. Maybe I am 'Sua Gu', but I have never seen sooo many Sunflowers before!!!=)

Anyway, China was pretty fun and obviously super cheap!!! The bad parts were that the food are super salty and the toilet are simply disgusting. I can't stand the fact that China people refused to close the toilet doors while doing their business. It's disgusting walking pass rows of cubicles with people staring at you while squating down doing whatever I don't want to see. I know that most doors doesn't come with proper locks but why cant they TRY to even close the damn door?! Urghh.. It's just disgusting. And the design of some toilet is just amazing. *Rolled eyes* Check out the pic below and you will understand. Adn this is not the worse, I have seen those without the seperators.
    Toilet At Hutong

Let's talk about some of the must-dos as well as other interesting things we've done.

    Must-DOs:

    1) The Great Wall of China, Simatai.
I think think we walked 10km? Anyway, it really is as beautiful as shown on TV.

    2) Tiananmen, 天安门
The place where there's a big potrait of MaoZeDong on the wall.

    3) Forbidden City,故宫.
    The Chinese Palace.

    4) Hutong.
One of the most well preserved homes of the Chinese. This is one of my favourite part of Beijing actually.

    5)Wang Fu Jing.
The shopping district kinda like our Orchard Road and the food street, 东华门夜市 where creepy crawlies and little sparrows are deemed as savoury snacks.

    6)Beijing Zoo, 北京动物园.
The home of the cute little Pandas.

    7) Sanlitun, the night scene.
We went to MIX aka 'Mi-Ke-Si to the Chinese' as recommended by our hotel Staff. I think it's really awesome, the music was great, pepole are enjoying themselves. The only bad thing was to try to translate the names of the alchol to Chinese and we failed to do so. In the end, we just let the bartendar decide.

8)Huan Le Gu, the Chinese Version of Disneyland apparently.
It was actually better than we expected. The rides and the queueing time were decent. The admission is reasonable and the food is cheap. Basically nothing much to complain about=)

    9) ShiDu, a rural town out of Beijing.
I thought we all had the most fun@Shidu. More on Shidu coming up in the next post.
